WoW Item Upgrades
Item upgrades, also referred as "upping" are items or enchantments that increase the stats of armor and weapons. These upgrade items increase the gauge of an item by a specified amount of points. Their costs scale according to their rarity.
A perfectly made version of this armor is highly prized in the melee PvP community due to its ability to minimize weapon damage.
Type-restricted upgrades
The upgrading process is an essential aspect of the crafting process. Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, make it stronger or give it an additional benefit. They can also alter the appearance of an item. Some upgrades are universal while others have rules specific to weapons and armor. A bad upgrade can destroy the weapon that was previously excellent, and could even render it unusable.
As a general rule, you can only upgrade an item of equipment to the level of its top-level counterpart. This means that you are able to upgrade the helms, body armors and gloves and shields to the same level as their most elite counterparts. Weapons can be upgraded to the equivalent of the sword. However, this doesn't boost the damage output of the weapon and could decrease its value in trade.
You can upgrade an item using crests or flightstones. The amount of each depends on the item's level and slot. Upgrades to swords, for instance will require more flightstones than upgrading the cloth. Also, you can get discounts on the amount of flightstones or crests required to upgrade an item.

The diamond-shaped indicator on an item gets filled up when it is upgraded. Each step raises Tier level by one-third. Tier 3 is the highest level. Depending on the item, it may require a different number of upgrades to reach this point. It is important to note that any procedures that might mount a disk should not be running during an upgrade. In addition, you must ensure that the disk being upgraded is not used as a system disk.
Enchantment is a feature that allows you to transform white or Common items into rare or blue ones. It can be done at Eleanor's Enchantment Shop in the Capital District. This procedure does not add gem or rune slots to the equipment, however, it alters the size of the equipment. Universal upgrades

They may be linear or branching.
The Universal Upgrade starts when "internal technologies" can provide sentient creatures new capabilities that they could not develop naturally. Examples of internal technology include prostheses or implants. This type of upgrade differs from medical internal technology that is designed to restore the natural capabilities. It is the beginning of an era that will change civilizations fundamentally. The universal upgrade may be long and complicated. However the process can be divided into two distinct types: full success and partial failure.
This is similar to the way resort upgrades work at Disney or Universal. In the case WDW it is typically due to operational reasons such as availability of rooms or the overbooking of rooms. In the case of Universal the reason could be to move guests from one resort to another one that is open. This is not meant to be mean-spirited, but it is something that can be unavoidable in the current environment.
Unlike Runes, Sigils and Jewels which can only be applied to specific types of equipment (armor, weapons or trinkets) universal upgrades can be applied to any equipment. They can also be applied to multiple items at the same time. They are therefore more versatile than other types of upgrade. This can be a problem when upgrading items that are on the same gear route. It can raise the item levels of all items on that path.
Before you upgrade, it's important to stop the PowerShell Universal service and delete the existing application files. Jewels

Like other upgrade components, jewels can be inserted into an item with an appropriate socket to boost it. For example, a Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both offer a boost to strength, but the Garnet Pebble is only able to increase regular hits while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's strong attacks. Jewels can be put into every level of armor, weapon and accessory slots, and certain trinkets that are exotic or lower rarity that require an unused slot.
As with other DM mechanics, gems aid to ensure that items are special to their owners. By offering a variety of different upgrade paths gems let players modify their equipment and choose the best combination for them. Requirements

This list lists the other upgrade components are available on the item, as well as a flag that indicates whether the item can be guaranteed to boost or additional effect.
